About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the college's information technology infrastructure, systems, system security and services. The CIO will collaborate with faculty, staff, administration and students to ensure that technology supports the mission and goals of the institution. This position will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive IT strategy, lead a team of IT professionals, and manage a diverse range of technology platforms that support academic programs, administrative functions, and student services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the college's mission and goals.
  • Oversee the management and continuous improvement of the college's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, and data management systems.
  • Provide leadership in implementing innovative and effective solutions that enhance the academic, research, and student experiences.
  • Ensure the security, privacy, and compliance of all technology systems and data, in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders to integrate technology into the teaching and learning environment, supporting the college's commitment to academic excellence.
  • Manage IT resources, including budget, staffing, and professional development opportunities for the IT team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external technology vendors, service providers, and partners to ensure high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in higher education technology and provide guidance on opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Lead efforts to improve cybersecurity protocols and maintain institutional readiness for disaster recovery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, including a proven track record of success in higher education or similarly complex environments.
  • Strong experience in IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and data governance.
  • Expertise in integrating technology into academic programs and administrative functions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders including internal Audit Committee members.
  • Strategic thinker with a commitment to innovation and the ability to translate complex technology concepts into actionable plans.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
