About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead the IT strategy and operations for the organization, focusing on large-scale application implementations and technology transformations, particularly in the retail sector. This role requires a strong background in both mainframe and cloud-based systems, with a focus on enhancing system performance, improving customer experience, and ensuring robust cybersecurity measures.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
  • Proven track record of successful large-scale application implementations and technology transformations, preferably in retail or a related industry.
  • Experience managing both mainframe and cloud-based systems.
  • Strong background in controls, change management, data analytics, AI/ML implementation, and cybersecurity.
  • Deep understanding of IBM mainframe technologies (e.g., COBOL, CICS, DB2) and third-party software tools (e.g., BMC, ASG).
  • Deep understanding of IBM mid-range and Microsoft Intel platforms.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of progressive development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).
  • Familiarity with retail-specific technologies (e.g., POS and Omni Channel systems, inventory management, supply chain software).

Nice-to-haves

  • Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) certification.
  • Certified Chief Information Officer (CCIO) certification.
  • TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified).
  • ITIL v4 Foundation or higher certification.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CRISC, CISSP, CISM).
