About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic business relationships with clients, aligning their technology needs with business goals. This role involves advising clients' IT departments, formulating strategic IT goals, managing budgets, and facilitating digital transformation initiatives. The CIO acts as a trusted adviser, focusing on risk identification, technology budgeting, and managing business relationships to drive innovation and business success.

Responsibilities

  • Manages relationships with principals, owners, and key stakeholders in client organizations.
  • Understands technology business drivers in client organizations.
  • Develops understanding of how clients serve and interact with their clients and how GXA can impact their business through technology.
  • Develops strategic technology roadmaps and provides budget planning expertise to clients.
  • Implements digital transformation initiatives in clients' environments.
  • Educates clients on technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Performs technical business consulting.
  • Analyzes clients' business processes and develops plans to rework them and facilitate technology changes.
  • Leads technical discussions with the GXA team and clients regarding their business and technology roadmap.
  • Continuously works to provide clients with the right technology to accomplish business goals and objectives utilizing GXA's service lines or other third-party services.
  • Works with clients and other GXA functions on project scoping and management.
  • Looks for opportunities to surpass clients' expectations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years related experience, managing IT in the small/medium business market (mandatory)
  • Ability to tie IT strategy to business goals.
  • Knowledge of technology trends.
  • A firm grasp of IT project planning and management.
  • Experience in the IT budgeting process.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Flexibility regarding changing business goals.
  • A strong passion for and alignment with GXA's mission.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with executive level leaders.
  • A high degree of business awareness and commercial acumen.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with great attention to detail.
  • Able to take a creative approach to situations and problem solving.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills with all levels, technical through to director.
  • Experience identifying and speaking to technical solutions for business problems.
  • Ability to understand and communicate the importance of investing in certain technologies.
  • Understanding of technical concepts/methodologies (prior hands-on technical experience is a plus).
  • Self-driven and highly motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Committed to quality and ongoing process and procedure improvements.
  • Demonstrated leadership and executive skills.
