About the position

The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking to hire a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the team supporting Central Management Services (CMS). The CIO will be responsible for developing technology vision, leadership, and strategic direction to align technology solutions with the overall goals of CMS. This position requires in-depth knowledge of current and emerging trends in the IT field, proficiency in software development, project management, and team development. The successful candidate will apply data strategies, improve delivery, and ensure compliance across all systems and applications within the CMS CIO's purview.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) supporting Central Management Services (CMS).
  • Develop technology vision, leadership, and strategic direction to align technology solutions with CMS goals.
  • Establish goals, develop strategies, and monitor performance to ensure operational effectiveness of DoIT/CMS.
  • Act as Agency spokesperson and primary advisor to the Director, representing the DoIT Secretary and GCIO.
  • Develop, prepare, and submit an annual operating budget.
  • Keep abreast of current and advancing Information Technology by reviewing and evaluating current literature.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible Information Technology management and administrative experience.
  • Four (4) years of experience supervising a team of IT professionals.

  • Five (5) years of professional experience managing large-scale IT operations.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience implementing technology strategies aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience developing and interpreting IT policies and procedures.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience leveraging technology to drive business model transformation.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in IT service management and operational oversight.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in IT budget planning and fiscal management.
  • Master’s degree in management information systems, computer systems, or related field.
