About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Electrification Software is a pivotal role within the rapidly growing software company under the GE Vernova portfolio. This position is responsible for developing and owning the IT strategy, budget, and portfolio for Electrification Software, which is dedicated to accelerating the future of energy and driving the decarbonization of the planet. The CIO will evolve the vision and mission of the IT organization, collaborating closely with Electrification Software leaders to achieve business priorities while fostering a culture of engagement and growth. In this role, the CIO will proactively advise Electrification Software leaders on emerging technologies and digital trends that align with the company's goals and evolving needs. The CIO will also evangelize new opportunities made possible through technology investments, challenge the status quo, and drive data and digital disruption. A key responsibility will be to partner with business leaders to select and implement suitable technology solutions that streamline internal operations and optimize strategic benefits. The CIO will simplify the total cost of IT to achieve world-class standards, utilizing lean methodologies to tie investments to business value drivers and success metrics. This role requires the ability to ruthlessly prioritize requests across the business and facilitate discussions among the leadership team to generate buy-in for large program decisions. The CIO will provide guidance to business stakeholders, acting as a resource for various teams, ensuring a focus on product quality and customer needs. Additionally, the CIO will drive continual improvement in end-user experiences, ensuring a defect-free, positive user experience. The transition from project to product will be a key focus, along with driving the team towards Agile-Lean methodologies and high adoption of DevOps tools. The CIO will also work to identify and reduce shadow IT, simplify application counts, and ensure a smooth implementation of a singular ERP system (Oracle Fusion Cloud). Influencing the business to view data as an asset and driving the transition to a service-oriented organization that values self-service methodologies will be essential. The role also includes developing career paths and growing a global talent pipeline, managing an in/outsource mix to enhance product quality and continuity, and prioritizing employee engagement by fostering a growth mindset. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM majors.
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • A minimum of 3 years work experience as a CIO partnering with a business unit.
  • Expertise in providing oversight and mentoring team members.
  • Deep understanding of the Software industry.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and leading global teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Proven track record of improving team engagement.
  • Thought leadership and comfort with market and technology trends.
  • Experience using Lean to eliminate waste in IT processes.
  • Ability to build deep trust with stakeholders.
  • Technical acumen to interface with technologies and translate complex concepts.
  • Strong oral presentation and written communication skills.
