Sonoma State University is seeking an Associate Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the Information Technology department. This role is pivotal in providing strategic management and guidance for IT services that support the university's mission of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and community engagement. The CIO will report directly to the Vice President for Administration and Finance and will be a key member of the university's Senior Administrative Leadership Team. The incumbent will represent the university on various councils and committees, including the CSU CIO council, and will be responsible for the effective management and improvement of campus-wide information technology services. The CIO's primary responsibilities include leading initiatives to deploy technology solutions that enhance student success, facilitate teaching and learning, and improve business processes. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders across the university to ensure that IT strategies align with the university's goals and the Chancellor's Office Strategic Plan. The CIO will oversee the development of a high-performing IT team, stabilize core technology infrastructure, and implement an information security strategy to safeguard the university's information assets. In addition to managing IT services, the CIO will work on improving communication between the IT team and the university community, enhancing accessible technology initiatives, and optimizing the use of existing technologies. The position also involves establishing partnerships with other CSU campuses and industry to bring additional capabilities to Sonoma State University. The anticipated annual salary for this position is $210,000.
