About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Rogue Community College is responsible for leading and managing the Information Technology Services department. This role involves overseeing the planning, management, security, and coordination of technology resources across the college. The CIO will represent the college in IT-related matters, manage the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and ensure the integration of new technologies into the college's infrastructure. The position also includes budget oversight, staff supervision, and strategic planning to support student success and institutional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to the Information Technology Services department.
  • Coordinate the development of departmental goals and objectives in alignment with the college's mission.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements related to IT.
  • Oversee the management of the ERP system and information security protocols.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including the IT master plan.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation for IT projects.
  • Supervise and develop staff within the IT department, ensuring effective performance and professional growth.
  • Communicate with college constituents regarding IT services and support.
  • Lead the evaluation and acquisition of software and hardware for the college's IT infrastructure.
  • Serve as the Information Security Officer, developing cybersecurity strategies.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a computer-related field.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience in IT, networking, and media/instructional technology.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management in an IT context.
