About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the Authority-wide information technology (IT) department. This role involves strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of IT systems to support the Authority's goals. The CIO will ensure continuous delivery of IT services, manage service level agreements, and lead the planning and implementation of technology operations across all business units.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan to enhance NFTA's effectiveness.
  • Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, staffing levels, and operating procedures.
  • Lead IT strategic, tactical, and operational planning to achieve business goals.
  • Facilitate communication between staff, management, vendors, and technology resources.
  • Manage multiple information and communications systems and projects.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate systems that support end users in using computer hardware and software.
  • Develop and implement user-training programs.
  • Oversee and evaluate backup procedures and supervise the Network Administrator.
  • Support the Authority's digital strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for cost-effective investment in IT operational systems and resources.
  • Track and control the Information Technology annual budget for operations.
  • Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts.
  • Promote and oversee relationships between IT resources and internal customers and vendors.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in management and support of information systems and technology.
  • Direct management experience of a major IT operation is preferred.
  • Experience in a transportation or government setting is desirable.
  • Exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as in-house information systems in a multi-site client-server environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with desktop, notebook, handheld, and server computer hardware.
  • Familiarity with local and wide area network design, implementation, and operation.
  • Knowledge of various office productivity software programs.
  • Familiarity with various computer peripherals such as printers and monitors.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $107,560 - $161,341
