About the position

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead and oversee technology operations across its US offices. The CIO will manage information security, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, and end-user support while collaborating with attorneys and staff to assess and address technology needs. This role is integral to the firm's executive team, working closely with other senior leaders to align technology strategies with business objectives and enhance the firm's operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day technology operations in US offices, including information security and infrastructure management.
  • Establish a comprehensive technology strategy and roadmap that aligns with the firm's strategic plan.
  • Develop and implement IT department goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Transition the IT department from a cost center to a profit center, enhancing business operations.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to support practice goals through technology and data.
  • Maintain a customer-focused IT team and communicate effectively with stakeholders about IT projects.
  • Lead continuous assessment and improvement of business processes and technology solutions.
  • Ensure maximum operational uptime of technology services and solutions.
  • Develop and monitor a comprehensive enterprise information security and IT risk management program.
  • Maintain consistent communication across the organization regarding IT initiatives and progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience leading technology teams.
  • Extensive IT experience in the professional services or legal industry.
  • Proven capability in managing large scale technology projects.
  • Strong leadership qualities in critical thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to assess solution architecture and design.
  • Experience in developing and executing IT strategic plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree, such as an MBA in management information systems.
  • Security Certifications, such as CISM or CISSP.
