About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Laramie County Community College (LCCC) serves as a strategic leader responsible for the development, management, and execution of the College's information technology strategy. This role aligns technology with the institution's academic, administrative, and strategic objectives, fostering innovation to enhance teaching, learning, the student experience, and operational efficiency. The CIO oversees IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, IT governance, and the implementation of technology-driven initiatives that support the institution's goals, ensuring seamless technology integration across departments and optimizing IT resources.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the College's information technology strategy to align with institutional goals.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT governance.
  • Implement technology-driven initiatives that support institutional objectives.
  • Ensure the protection of institutional data and compliance with legal standards.
  • Deliver efficient, integrated, and accessible IT systems for academic and administrative use.
  • Provide seamless IT services and responsive support to enhance user experience.
  • Monitor and adjust financial plans for efficient allocation of IT resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in IT-related roles.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing and implementing IT infrastructure and security.
  • Experience with project management, including large-scale technology projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or higher in a related field.
  • IT certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or ITIL certification.
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives in an academic setting.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Information Systems (SIS).
