About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at JSSA is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire information technology and telecommunications functions of the organization. The CIO will provide innovative technology leadership to support the agency's mission, manage a technology team, and ensure the security and efficacy of clinical and business applications. This position requires collaboration with executive management to optimize IT services for approximately 450 professionals across various locations, while managing a budget of approximately $2.8 million.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a technology roadmap to meet JSSA's future needs.
  • Interface with programmatic leaders to anticipate technology needs and advise on appropriate practices or technologies.
  • Provide thought leadership in Executive and Senior Management Teams and Board meetings regarding technology's role in achieving strategic goals.
  • Develop and oversee strategic and operational plans for IT that align with the Agency's priorities.
  • Establish a culture of service excellence and support innovation across the IT spectrum.
  • Modernize existing IT applications/infrastructure to support future strategies.
  • Build technology capabilities with innovative delivery models using both outsourced and in-house teams.
  • Oversee the selection and management of clinical and business-line solutions in collaboration with leadership.
  • Institute and enforce security measures to protect information and technology resources, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver data analytics solutions for real-time access to information for decision making.
  • Lead and develop an effective IT Team, focusing on performance and career development.
  • Manage operational and budgetary requirements for technology solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Champion agency-wide information management and sharing across program boundaries.
  • Support the technology tools and solutions needed across the agency, actively participating in their implementation.
  • Serve as the Agency's Security Officer on HIPAA matters.
  • Foster a culture of customer service, continual improvement, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least ten years of progressive experience in IT leadership.
  • Experience in a multi-service healthcare organization or equivalently complex setting.
  • Knowledge of current healthcare IT requirements and trends.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Creative and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Experience as part of an executive management team preferred.
