About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a senior executive responsible for aligning technology with the organization's strategic goals. This role involves leading the IT department to ensure effective delivery of IT services, collaborating with C-suite executives, managing IT budgets, and overseeing cybersecurity initiatives. The CIO will drive digital transformation, enhance business processes, and maximize technology investments to support the mission of honoring and empowering veterans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead the optimization of the CRM platform and self-service data and analytics capabilities.
  • Oversee IT staff, projects, and budget with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Protect critical WWP data assets related to donor and warrior information.
  • Provide updates on strategic IT initiatives to the Board of Directors quarterly.
  • Leverage WWP brand and partners to maximize ROI of donor dollars.
  • Perform security audits and penetration tests for critical 3rd party suppliers.
  • Evaluate security and risk management, addressing potential vulnerabilities.
  • Lead large-scale technology implementations and drive user readiness.
  • Build and manage a data-intensive environment with appropriate data sets and tools.
  • Develop a compelling IT vision that aligns with WWP's growth strategy.
  • Set ambitious goals and drive measurable improvements in IT performance.
  • Navigate through ambiguity and complex situations with clear communication.
  • Cultivate a high-performing IT team through talent acquisition and performance management.
  • Drive thought leadership and stay updated on industry tools and technologies.

Requirements

  • Fifteen years in a senior IT role.
  • Ten years of experience in IT management with a track record of strategic planning and execution.
  • Ten years of demonstrated leadership and people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five years of experience working within the non-profit sector.
  • Proficiency in modern business applications including Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office 365.
