About the position

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead and oversee technology operations across its US offices. The CIO will manage information security, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, and end-user support while collaborating with attorneys and staff to assess and address technology needs. This role is integral to the firm's executive team, working closely with other senior leaders to align technology strategies with business objectives and ensure the firm remains competitive in the legal landscape.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day technology operations in US offices.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy and roadmap.
• Establish IT department goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
• Transition the IT department from a cost center to a profit center.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to support practice goals through technology.
• Maintain a customer-focused IT team and communicate technology's role in business strategy.
• Lead continuous assessment and improvement of core business processes and systems.
• Ensure the security posture of the firm and lead efforts for ISO 27001 certification.
• Maintain consistent communication regarding IT projects and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 10+ years of experience leading technology teams.
• Extensive IT experience in the professional services or legal industry.
• Experience managing information security for a large enterprise.
• Proven capability in managing large scale technology projects.
• Strong leadership qualities in critical thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to assess solution architecture and design.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree such as an MBA in management information systems.
• Security Certifications such as CISM or CISSP.
