About the position

Kellogg Community Credit Union is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead and oversee the technology infrastructure and information systems of the organization. In this pivotal role, the CIO will be responsible for developing both short- and long-term technology objectives that align with the credit union's mission of providing efficient, cost-effective, and innovative technology tools. The CIO will work closely with the CEO to establish technology goals that support revenue growth and enhance member services. This position requires a strategic thinker who can steer the long-term direction of the credit union's technology initiatives, ensuring that systems are not only efficient and secure but also meet the evolving needs of members and the organization as a whole. The CIO will direct, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of the credit union's technology infrastructure and information systems. This includes evaluating project feasibility studies based on management's requirements and cost constraints, as well as researching industry trends to ensure that the credit union's technology structure is adequate. The successful candidate will implement and connect the necessary equipment to operate systems effectively, ensuring compliance with all credit union policies and procedures. Additionally, the CIO will foster a courteous and professional relationship with both internal and external stakeholders, promoting effective member services and continuous improvement of internal processes. This role is not only about managing technology but also about leading teams in information technology and business intelligence to provide the necessary tools and information to the rest of the KCCU team. The CIO will play a crucial role in supporting the credit union's mission by ensuring that technology serves as a backbone for member services and organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, coordinates, and oversees all areas of the Credit Union's technology infrastructure and information systems.
  • Works directly with the CEO to set the short- and long-term technology goals.
  • Provides leadership necessary to achieve revenue growth and other organizational goals through technology.
  • Steers the long-term strategic direction and implementation of efficient and secure systems that meet member services and decision-making requirements.
  • Reviews and evaluates project feasibility studies based on management's requirements, priorities, and cost constraints.
  • Researches industry trends in technology to ensure the credit union's information technology structure is adequate.
  • Supports the credit union mission by ensuring effective member services and continuous improvement of internal systems and processes.
  • Implements the installation and operation of information technology and connects the equipment required to operate systems.
  • Ensures that all Credit Union policies and procedures are in place and followed.
  • Advises on concerns as they pertain to information technology.
  • Creates and maintains a courteous and professional relationship with internal and external members.

Requirements

  • Ten to fifteen years of similar or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree plus professional certification, or a master's degree.
  • Required to travel and work from Battle Creek Michigan office on a regular basis.
  • Strong ability to lead, motivate, and influence others.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risk.
  • Strong attention to detail, strong computer skills, and excellent time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to interact with others on a regular basis and build relationships.
