About the position

Kellogg Community Credit Union is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead and oversee the credit union's technology infrastructure and information systems. In this pivotal role, the CIO will be responsible for developing both short- and long-term technology objectives that ensure the provision of efficient, cost-effective, and innovative technology tools to support the credit union's operations. The CIO will work closely with the CEO to establish technology goals that align with the organization's revenue growth and overall strategic objectives. This position requires a visionary leader who can steer the long-term strategic direction of the credit union's technology initiatives, ensuring that systems are not only efficient and secure but also meet the needs of members and facilitate informed decision-making. The CIO will direct, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of the credit union's technology infrastructure and information systems. This includes evaluating project feasibility studies based on management's requirements, priorities, and cost constraints. The successful candidate will be tasked with researching industry trends in technology to ensure that the credit union's information technology structure and equipment are adequate to meet member needs and align with the strategic plan. Additionally, the CIO will support the credit union's mission by ensuring effective member services, fostering team development, and driving continuous improvement of internal systems and processes. In this role, the CIO will implement the installation and operation of information technology systems, ensuring that all necessary equipment is connected and operational. The CIO will also be responsible for ensuring that all credit union policies and procedures related to technology are in place and adhered to. Building and maintaining courteous and professional relationships with both internal and external members will be a key aspect of this position, as effective communication and collaboration are essential for success.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, coordinates, and oversees all areas of the Credit Union's technology infrastructure and information systems.
  • Works directly with the CEO to set the short- and long-term technology goals.
  • Provides leadership necessary to achieve revenue growth and other organizational goals through technology.
  • Steers the long-term strategic direction and implementation of efficient and secure systems that are cost-effective and meet member services and decision-making requirements.
  • Reviews and evaluates project feasibility studies based on management's requirements, priorities, and cost constraints.
  • Researches industry trends in technology to ensure the credit union's information technology structure and equipment are adequate to meet member needs and the strategic plan.
  • Supports the credit union mission by ensuring effective member services, development of teams, and continuous improvement of internal systems and processes.
  • Implements the installation and operation of information technology systems and connects the required equipment to operate systems.
  • Ensures that all Credit Union policies and procedures are in place and followed.
  • Advises on concerns related to information technology.
  • Creates and maintains courteous and professional relationships with internal and external members.

Requirements

  • Ten to fifteen years of similar or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree plus professional certification, or a master's degree.
  • Strong ability to lead, motivate, and influence others.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risk.
  • Strong attention to detail, strong computer skills, and excellent time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to interact with others on a regular basis and build and foster relationships.
