About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a pivotal role responsible for leading the global transformation of the organization's technology strategy. The CIO will align IT initiatives with IRC's mission to support humanitarian efforts, drive digital transformation, and ensure the scalability and security of IT systems. This position requires a visionary leader who will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy, enhancing business capabilities and supporting IRC's global operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the ongoing evolution of a technology Roadmap and manage IRC's information systems.
  • Define, develop, and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and enterprise architecture.
  • Direct the secure and continuous operation and maintenance of a flexible and scalable network infrastructure.
  • Identify, evaluate, select, and implement emerging technologies to enhance information sharing.
  • Develop and maintain standards, processes, and procedures for IT operations.
  • Create and monitor the enterprise IT budget, ensuring compliance and cost savings.
  • Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Group and Operations Leadership Team.
  • Facilitate communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources.
  • Hire, retain, and develop a highly qualified IT team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years managing IT at large multi-site, multi-national organizations, preferably non-profit.
  • Minimum 10+ years of leadership responsibility managing midsize to large teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Administration, or a related field; a master's degree is desirable.
  • Proven capability in leading and managing diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in delivering major global technology solutions across Finance, HRIS, Supply Chain, and Procurement.
  • Deep understanding and sensitivity to GDEI principles.
  • Broad experience with technologies commonly used in large multinational IT environments.
