About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Fauquier County will lead the Department of Information Technology, overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT services. This role is crucial for ensuring that the county's technological needs are met and that major projects align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT services for Fauquier County.
• Handle employee concerns and manage departmental tasks effectively.
• Organize, prioritize, and assign tasks within the IT department.
• Educate other departments on IT services and provide analytical data.
• Engage in the Technology Review Board and other committees to ensure alignment with technological goals.
• Ensure major projects stay on track and aligned with the county's goals.
• Develop and administer the department budget.
• Create and implement long- and short-term plans to address technological needs.
