About the position

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead and oversee technology operations across its US offices. The CIO will manage information security, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, and end-user support while collaborating with senior staff to align IT services with the firm's strategic goals. This role is pivotal in transitioning the IT department from a cost center to a profit center, ensuring that technology enhances business operations and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day technology operations in US offices.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy and roadmap.
• Establish IT department goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
• Define corporate plans, policies, and standards for IT systems.
• Transition the IT department to a profit center that enhances business operations.
• Collaborate with leadership to align IT strategy with business objectives.
• Maintain a customer-focused IT team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Lead continuous assessment and improvement of core business processes and systems.
• Ensure maximum operational uptime of technology solutions and services.
• Develop and monitor a comprehensive enterprise information security and IT risk management program.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Advanced degree (MBA in management information systems preferred).
• 10+ years of experience leading technology teams.
• Security Certifications (CISM, CISSP preferred).
• Extensive IT experience in professional services or legal industry.
• Experience managing information security for a large enterprise.
• Proven capability in managing large scale technology projects.
• Ability to present technical ideas in user-friendly language.
• Experience in developing and executing IT strategic plans.
• Strong leadership qualities in critical thinking and collaboration.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the legal industry is preferred.
• Security certifications such as CISM or CISSP are preferred.
