About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a senior executive responsible for aligning technology with the organization's strategic goals. The CIO leads the IT department, ensuring effective delivery of IT services to support operations and objectives. This role involves collaboration with C-suite executives to leverage technology for business process enhancement, innovation, and maximizing technology investments. The CIO also manages IT budgets, cybersecurity initiatives, vendor relationships, and staff development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead the optimization of the CRM platform and self-service data & analytics capabilities.
  • Oversee IT staff, projects, and budget focusing on efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Protect critical WWP data assets related to donor and warrior information.
  • Provide updates on strategic IT initiatives to the Board of Directors quarterly.
  • Leverage WWP brand and partners to deliver efficient solutions maximizing donor ROI.
  • Collaborate with audit and compliance teams for security audits and penetration tests.
  • Evaluate security and risk management, addressing vulnerabilities in cloud and productivity environments.
  • Lead large-scale technology implementations ensuring successful execution and user readiness.
  • Build and manage a data-intensive environment with appropriate data sets and tools.
  • Develop a compelling IT vision that aligns with WWP's growth strategy.
  • Set ambitious goals and drive measurable improvements in IT performance.
  • Navigate ambiguity and complex situations with clear communication and adaptability.
  • Build and cultivate a high-performing IT team through talent acquisition and performance management.
  • Drive thought leadership and stay updated on the latest tools and technologies.

Requirements

  • Fifteen years in a senior IT role.
  • Ten years of experience in IT management with a track record of strategic planning and execution.
  • Ten years of demonstrated leadership and people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five years of experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Workday, Microsoft Great Plains, and Microsoft Office 365.
