About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Rogue Community College is responsible for leading and managing the Information Technology Services department. This role involves overseeing system-wide planning, management, security, and coordination of technology resources, ensuring alignment with the college's mission. The CIO represents the college in IT-related matters and is tasked with managing the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, information security, and user support services, while also providing strategic planning and budget oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the success of the IT Department by coordinating goals and objectives, reviewing plans, and evaluating progress.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development of accreditation reports and self-studies for the department.
  • Coordinate the delivery of essential IT services and establish policies that promote a strong service orientation.
  • Develop long-range professional development plans and ensure operational compliance with governing authorities.
  • Facilitate the development of an overall plan for maintenance and operations of IT facilities and support other departments with IT issues.
  • Lead the evaluation of departmental requests for software and hardware acquisition and integration.
  • Manage IT projects, ensuring completion within budget and timelines, and communicate effectively with the campus community regarding system outages.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the IT master plan and maintain relationships with external organizations.
  • Serve as the Information Security Officer, creating cybersecurity strategies and communicating risks to senior administration.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the IT Department by performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a computer-related field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in leadership of IT, networking, and media/instructional technology with exposure to budgeting is required.
  • Knowledge of technology hardware/software systems, help desk procedures, and IT management practices is essential.
  • Project management skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and manage a department budget.

  • Experience in a college setting is strongly preferred.
