About the position

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead and oversee the technology operations across its US offices. The CIO will be responsible for information security, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, end-user support, and mobile device management. This role requires collaboration with attorneys and staff to assess technology needs and ensure alignment with the firm's strategic goals. The CIO will also work closely with other senior executives to integrate and support technology priorities within the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day technology operations in US offices.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy and roadmap.
  • Establish IT department goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Ensure IT functions support business needs and enable a unified platform.
  • Define corporate plans, policies, and standards for IT systems.
  • Transition the IT department from a cost center to a profit center.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align IT strategy with business objectives.
  • Maintain customer focus within the IT team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Lead continuous assessment and improvement of business processes and systems.
  • Ensure maximum operational uptime of technology solutions and services.
  • Develop and monitor a comprehensive enterprise information security program.
  • Maintain communication across all levels of the organization regarding IT initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience leading technology teams.
  • Extensive IT experience in the professional services or legal industry.
  • Experience managing information security for a large enterprise.
  • Proven capability in managing large scale technology projects.
  • Strong leadership qualities in critical thinking and collaboration.
  • Ability to present technical ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Experience in developing and executing IT strategic plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree such as an MBA in management information systems.
  • Security Certifications such as CISM or CISSP.
