About the position

Parsons is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to oversee all aspects of digital security for mission-critical systems globally. This role involves ensuring compliance with government standards, managing security operations, and collaborating with program managers and engineers throughout the system life cycle. The CISO will also conduct vulnerability testing and maintain security plans to meet contractual and security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the certification and accreditation of computer networks and standalone information systems using government standards.
  • Prepare, maintain, and implement System Security Plans that accurately depict the customer's contractual and security requirements.
  • Oversee and ensure accountability for day-to-day security operations of all information systems (unclassified/classified).
  • Work directly with program managers and system security engineers on all phases of system life cycle development.
  • Conduct ongoing vulnerability testing of the information system to verify security features and operating controls are functional and effective.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in cyber security or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Cyber Security
  • Thorough understanding of Automated Information Systems and specifically chapter 8 of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
  • Proven experience with developing and implementing security measures in accordance with applicable ICDs, NISP, and other government regulations
  • Demonstrated proficiency with various computer applications and testing tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WASSP, MBSA, Nessus, etc.)
  • Strong background in assisting Information Systems Security Manager(s) in reporting and mitigation of information system security incidents.

Nice-to-haves

  • TS/SCI w/Poly
  • CISSP or other DOD 8570-1 certifications or working towards certification
  • Strong background in certification and accreditation process of information systems and ability to write, review, and coordinate system security plans.
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing facility procedures for handling classified media and equipment.
