About the position

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of the organization's information security program. This role involves leading a team of information security analysts and specialists, collaborating with OneIT teams, and enhancing information security policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information assets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large and technical projects of varying scale, budgets, and resources to ensure high quality and efficient operation of deployed solutions.
  • Develop 1, 3, and 5-year technical plans based on campus needs and technology trends, performing routine strategic reviews.
  • Supervise the security team and all operational security activities.
  • Oversee university IT policy and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years management experience
  • Experience managing security in a higher education environment
  • Familiarity with SIEM technologies
  • Fundamental understanding of network technologies & protocols.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree
  • 5+ years management experience
  • 5+ years experience in IT security
  • Experience with Cisco security products
  • Experience with audits and IT policy.
