About the position

Flexjet is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Station Chief Inspector. This position is pivotal in managing, training, and directing work within the Quality Control (QC) Department. The Chief Inspector will work closely with the maintenance department to ensure compliance with federal regulations and company procedures and policies for the Flexjet HPN hangar. The role requires a strong focus on quality assurance and regulatory compliance, ensuring that all maintenance work meets the highest standards before being released for Return to Service (RTS). The Chief Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that final inspections are properly performed on all work completed. This includes the accurate and timely execution of all required inspection records, reports, and forms. The Chief Inspector will also oversee the inspection and maintenance of tools and test equipment, ensuring they are in a serviceable condition and that no defective or un-airworthy parts are installed in any component or assembly released to service. Additionally, the role involves performing quality checks on incoming materials, including parts and supplies, to determine airworthiness prior to installation. The Chief Inspector will maintain compliance with procedures for preliminary inspections, hidden damage inspections, inspection continuity, and final inspections of all items processed by the facility. This position also involves developing and implementing policies and procedures, overseeing major repairs and alterations, and completing any FAA forms that may be required. The Chief Inspector will partner with the General Manager and Quality Assurance manager as needed and manage the department's financial performance concerning budget, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and gross margins. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Manager as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure final inspections are properly performed on all work completed before it is released for Return to Service (RTS).
  • Responsible for accurate and timely execution of all required inspection records, reports, and forms.
  • Ensure all tools and test equipment are inspected and maintained in a serviceable and, where applicable, calibrated condition.
  • Ensure that there are no defective, non-conformed, or un-airworthy parts installed in any component or assembly released to service.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure that incoming material receives an Incoming Inspection to determine airworthiness prior to being approved for installation.
  • Maintain compliance with procedures for preliminary inspections, hidden damage inspections, inspection continuity, and final inspections of all items processed by the facility.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the execution of major repairs and alterations; complete any FAA forms that may be required.
  • Partner with GM and QA manager as needed.
  • Manage department's financial performance with respect to budget, AOP, and gross margins.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years experience and/or training in aviation with exposure to the Company Specific fleet types and Part 121 and/or Part 135 Operations.
  • 3-5 years in a supervisory and/or quality environment.
  • Combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
  • Inspection Authorization Certificate preferred, but not required.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
