About the position

The Chief Marketing and Brand Strategy Officer at Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a pivotal role responsible for architecting the college's branding and marketing infrastructure. This position aims to create a unique standing in higher education that resonates with both internal and external audiences. Reporting directly to the President, the officer will lead a high-performing team, drive strategic marketing efforts, and ensure alignment with the institution's goals, ultimately contributing to the growth and sustainability of the HGTC brand.

Responsibilities

  • Conceive and implement an overarching strategic marketing and branding program that is innovative, progressive, and proactive.
  • Collaborate closely with various administrative units to ensure external communications reinforce the brand and strategic goals.
  • Establish a unified digital ecosystem that reflects the college's brand and emphasizes compliance with accessibility and user-experience standards.
  • Support and inspire collaboration among marketing and communications professionals across the college.
  • Evaluate current marketing and branding efforts and strategically invest in market research and brand refinement.
  • Build and manage a best-in-class strategic marketing and branding program compared to peers in higher education.
  • Inspire and motivate staff through transparency and direction, providing professional development opportunities.
  • Foster an environment that rewards new ideas, creativity, and risk-taking, while encouraging teamwork and collaboration.
  • Research and analyze best practices and market trends to tailor recruitment strategies and promotional approaches.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and public relations experience in an administrative capacity.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a higher education-based marketing leadership role.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies with tangible outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and analytics.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
