About the position

The Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer (CMRO) at Nonprofit Quarterly (NPQ) is a pivotal role focused on driving growth and impact through innovative marketing and revenue strategies. This position is responsible for shaping the future of NPQ as a leading voice in the nonprofit sector, dedicated to advancing racial justice and equity. The CMRO will lead audience development, oversee revenue-generating activities, and foster partnerships to enhance NPQ's brand presence and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business strategy that integrates marketing and revenue generation.
  • Oversee all revenue-generating activities, including memberships, subscriptions, advertising, and partnerships.
  • Lead audience development and marketing efforts to attract and retain a diverse readership.
  • Spearhead the development of multimedia platforms to enhance reader experience and brand presence.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to align marketing, revenue, and editorial goals.
  • Act as a public-facing representative of NPQ, advocating for a mission-driven media model.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading marketing and revenue growth, preferably in the media industry.
  • Demonstrated success in membership acquisition and audience engagement.
