About the position

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for all marketing efforts within the Seneca Gaming Corporation. This role focuses on promoting brand awareness, developing marketing strategies, and ensuring effective promotions across various properties and departments. The CMO will lead initiatives to enhance brand recognition, manage marketing teams, and drive revenue growth through innovative marketing practices and customer engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Create and oversee the implementation of marketing plans that support the overall strategy and financial goals of the corporation.
  • Lead efforts to maximize brand recognition and value across all marketing collateral and communications.
  • Establish a high-performance player development team to grow existing markets and identify new ones.
  • Develop and implement a customer reinvestment strategy and oversee training for marketing personnel.
  • Create an effective departmental organizational structure and establish management objectives across various marketing disciplines.
  • Develop departmental business plans with performance and profit objectives consistent with the corporation's strategic marketing plan.
  • Ensure departments meet or exceed financial and performance goals, recommending changes to enhance profitability.
  • Oversee individual leaders responsible for promotions, database marketing, and player development across properties.
  • Review and approve all marketing initiatives, including advertising campaigns and promotions.
  • Develop a comprehensive database marketing strategy and oversee corporate marketing programs for Canadian and Asian markets.
  • Coordinate publicity events and act as the spokesperson for the corporation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • Fifteen years of progressive gaming experience, with at least eight years in a Vice President or higher role in corporate casino marketing.
  • Experience managing multiple marketing departments and budgets comparable in size to SGC's.
  • Proven communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents and respond to complaints effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to instill pride and responsibility in employees.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in corporate hospitality, leisure, or entertainment industries with a focus on brand and loyalty management programs.
