About the position

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive brand, marketing, communications, and public relations strategies. This role involves collaboration with the CNM President and other executives to enhance the learner experience, grow enrollment, and strengthen community partnerships. The CMO leads a team of marketing professionals, coordinates internal communications, and manages crisis communications, ensuring alignment with the College's mission and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the overarching brand strategy through integrated marketing and communications efforts.
  • Collaborate with leadership to execute major marketing initiatives supporting the College's strategic plan.
  • Translate educational benefits into effective marketing platforms.
  • Develop key metrics to assess the success of marketing efforts and drive optimizations.
  • Supervise planning and implementation of all Marketing and Communications Office (MCO) projects.
  • Create actionable communication plans for major initiatives.
  • Assist executive leaders in articulating marketing strategies aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Coordinate communications for events associated with the President's Office.
  • Provide leadership for cross-functional initiatives involving external partnerships.
  • Utilize business intelligence to optimize strategies against competitors.
  • Work across College units to support growth and program improvement.
  • Lead a team of over 30 marketing specialists, ensuring quality standards and professional development.
  • Engage external consultants for strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Director of Communications to facilitate the President's message.
  • Ensure alignment of MCO work with the College's vision and values.
  • Consult on official CNM communications and public communications from the President.
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns and strategies for elections and partnerships.
  • Lead communications during emergencies and crises.
  • Oversee strategic planning and execution of advanced marketing, focusing on AI integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Ten years of experience in strategic leadership and execution in marketing, communications, or public relations.

  • Master's degree or advanced learning in a related field
