About the position

Public Rec is a men's athleisure brand that has been changing the comfort game in pants and apparel for the past 8 years. The Daymaker Pant launched in 2015, delivering undercover comfort and versatility, solving the age-old dilemma of how to look professional enough for work while wearing pants that are so comfortable you can also sneak out to the links for that 'business meeting' on a perfect summer Friday. We've gained a loyal following of dads, golfers, and frequent flyers who love our pants, but we've only scratched the surface with where we want to go with the brand. We're looking for someone to wear the pants and bring the brand to life with humor, fun, and a confidence that celebrates guys who aren't all professional athletes or fashion models. And then we'd like our pants back. As our first Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), you will help shape and execute our marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, engagement, and revenue growth. This role is equal parts brand and performance marketing, requiring a candidate adept at deciphering marketing insights to direct priorities that build the Public Rec brand. We are looking for someone with experience managing teams in 360 brand development across both top and bottom of funnel campaigns, influencer and brand partnerships, and social content that makes people smile, smirk, laugh, and want to be a part of the brand. A brand builder at your core, the CMO will drive the strategic marketing mix between brand and performance. We seek someone who can make the right marketing investments to drive an increasing percentage of total revenue from owned and organic traffic sources by leveraging a differentiated and defensible brand. You will lead a dynamic marketing team of performance, creative, and brand professionals, collaborating closely with other departments to ensure alignment with overall business objectives. This role will report directly to our CEO. The preferred location for this role is at our HQ in Chicago. For remote candidates, a relocation bonus is available as well as a transition period. We're also open to assessing candidates outside of Chicago who are willing to travel.
