About the position

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Republic Bank plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the bank's brands, products, and services are effectively positioned and presented to key audiences. This position is integral to achieving the organization's near and long-term business goals. The CMO is responsible for overseeing all marketing efforts through various channels, including paid, owned, and earned media, across both digital and traditional platforms. This includes a strong focus on customer experience and innovation across all digital touchpoints, ensuring that all marketing strategies are customer-centric and compliant with applicable laws and regulations. In this leadership role, the CMO will collaborate closely with various departments within the bank to ensure a consistent and customer-focused brand experience. Key audiences include current and prospective clients, employees, shareholders, and the communities in which Republic Bank operates. The CMO will also be tasked with developing and implementing comprehensive marketing programs that span multiple channels, including video, digital media, email, social media, print, and public relations. This position requires a strategic mindset, as well as the ability to analyze consumer insights and analytics to identify opportunities that align with the bank's business objectives. The CMO will also be responsible for budgeting and planning for marketing expenditures, managing relationships with external marketing agencies, and leading digital customer experience initiatives. This role demands a strong understanding of compliance responsibilities and the ability to incorporate these into business processes. The CMO will model and foster a corporate culture that emphasizes trust, cooperation, and accountability, while also being willing to take on additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with and influence senior leaders, and business and product line managers to identify business needs, strategies, and tactics to accomplish overall business goals.
  • Lead the marketing team in developing and implementing marketing programs across all channels including video (TV and digital), digital media (SEM, display), email and mobile messaging, audio (radio and digital), social media, print, out-of-home, direct mail; collateral and on-site merchandising; sponsorships and partnership marketing; and public relations and media relations.
  • Collaborate with all areas of the bank that engage with audiences to ensure a consistent, customer-focused brand experience for all key stakeholders.
  • Assist in budgeting and planning for marketing, media, digital development and analytics/research expenditures.
  • Work with Learning and Development to ensure internal communications align with the brand.
  • Incorporate compliance responsibilities into business processes and perform periodic self-assessments, providing training to associates as needed.
  • Model and foster behaviors that support the Bank's values and corporate culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' experience delivering innovative and efficient marketing, customer experience and brand programs utilizing a highly coordinated array of tactics.
  • Demonstrated results in acquiring new customers, increasing revenues from existing customers, and engaging key brand stakeholders including employees, shareholders, and the communities.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working directly with and influencing senior level leaders and business or product line managers.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience developing and implementing marketing programs across all channels including video, digital media, email, social media, print, and public relations.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing outside marketing agencies and analytics or research providers.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience leading digital customer-experience initiatives for organizations with significant online and/or mobile business.
  • Experience utilizing consumer research and analytics to identify strategic opportunities and measure program effectiveness.
  • Experience in budgeting and planning for marketing expenditures, with P&L responsibility preferred.
  • 3 years' experience working within a highly regulated environment preferred.
