About the position

The Vice President, Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) will play a pivotal role in the strategic integration of clinical information systems and advanced technology within the healthcare setting. This position is designed to enhance patient care and operational efficiency, focusing on the adoption and optimization of electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare technology systems. The CMIO will work closely with executive leadership to ensure that the integration of these systems aligns with the organization's goals and enhances the quality and safety of patient care. In this role, the CMIO will lead initiatives aimed at improving overall efficiency and quality in patient care. This includes overseeing training programs for staff to ensure they are well-equipped to utilize the EHR systems effectively. The CMIO will also facilitate innovation within the organization, monitoring key performance indicators to ensure system reliability, EHR utilization, and data security. Additionally, the CMIO will be responsible for the optimization and support of clinical applications, ensuring that all healthcare applications are functioning at their best to support clinical operations. The CMIO will be a key figure in driving the organization towards a more technologically advanced future, ensuring that the integration of clinical information systems not only meets regulatory requirements but also enhances the overall patient experience. This position requires a strong leader who can navigate the complexities of healthcare informatics and foster collaboration among various departments to achieve the organization's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the strategic integration of clinical information systems and technology.
  • Enhance patient care and operational efficiency through effective use of EHRs.

  • Oversee training programs for staff on EHR and healthcare technology systems.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board eligibility or certification in a clinical specialty.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare informatics or a related role.
  • Physician License.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of EHR systems, healthcare technology, and data management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Epic as a Physician Builder or similar compatible certification.
