About the position

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Banner Payson Medical Center is a part-time leadership role responsible for overseeing medical management and improving clinical care and patient safety. This position collaborates with physicians and leaders to enhance the health and wellness of the Payson community, ensuring high-quality care across various medical services offered by the facility. The CMO plays a crucial role in developing and implementing medical policies and practices, fostering a service-oriented culture, and driving process improvements in clinical services.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and administration of medical management.
• Integrate, coordinate, and improve clinical care and patient safety.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physician and provider stakeholders.
• Participate in the review of qualifications, credentials, and performance of medical staff.
• Lead care management activities to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes.
• Participate in patient grievance processes as needed.
• Provide guidance and development for staff, promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Strategize and drive process improvements in clinical services and patient throughput.
• Ensure collaboration within a highly matrixed team environment.
• Promote financial stewardship and clinical excellence in operational processes.

Requirements

• Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree required.
• Board Certification or eligibility preferred.
• Five years of experience in clinical practice.
• Current and unrestricted State license to practice medicine.
• Three years of medical staff leadership experience preferred.
• Experience as a physician leader in a large multi-specialty group practice or hospital system.
