About the position

The Chief of Staff for the AI Center at Samsung Research America plays a pivotal role in supporting the Senior Vice President (SVP) in various day-to-day activities. This position is integral to the North America AI Center, which is at the forefront of innovation in creating intelligent and interactive technologies. The Chief of Staff will serve as an independent proxy and key point of communication for the SVP, coordinating with internal teams and across Samsung to further team initiatives and goals. This role requires managing and maintaining the executive's Outlook calendar, scheduling appointments, meetings, and conferences, while prioritizing the most sensitive matters. In addition to calendar management, the Chief of Staff will coordinate and oversee meetings and events, including logistics, venue booking, catering arrangements, and preparation of materials. Developing executive-level meeting agendas and presentations is crucial, as is the ability to highlight key strategic topics and succinctly analyze relevant current events across technology and media. The Chief of Staff will also prepare reports and briefings for executive decision-making, lead a small team including an executive assistant and finance & operations specialist, and facilitate internal/external events and all-hands events for teams. This position also involves contributing to establishing organizational culture, defining and executing organizational processes with minimal input and guidance, and building, maintaining, and navigating relationships with members internal and external to Samsung, as well as stakeholders on behalf of the SVP. The Chief of Staff must possess a global mindset, flexible work style, and comfort with ambiguity, as well as a growth mindset to learn new skills in technology and product development. A positive attitude, self-starter mentality, and high emotional intelligence (EQ) are essential for success in this role.
