About the position

As the Chief of Staff for the AI Silicon Group at AMD, you will play a pivotal role in streamlining operations and enhancing productivity within the organization. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the seamless execution of strategic initiatives that are critical to the success of the group. This includes organizing and tracking meetings, managing documentation, facilitating communication among teams, and supporting the hiring processes to build a strong workforce. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve the group's objectives. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring readiness for quarterly goals, conducting monthly reviews, and tracking team progress. You will assist in the creation and maintenance of essential documentation, manage Roadmap and Technology discussion forums, and ensure that materials are prepared for weekly forums. Capturing notes and driving action items will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will managing and organizing weekly staff meetings, preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and following up on action items. You will also track open requisitions, assist in writing job descriptions, and facilitate hiring processes to ensure that the team is well-staffed and equipped to meet its goals. Monitoring team deliverables and coordinating efforts to ensure timely completion will be crucial, as will developing content as necessary. Additionally, you will oversee team structure and collaboration, monitoring and reporting on the overall health of the group, and working with leaders to build and manage budgets for operational expenses. Facilitating communication and collaboration across different departments and organizations will be essential, as will building and developing strategic relationships with external partners. You will also support hiring and organize learning and development opportunities for the team, maintain a tracker for upcoming meetings, and ensure that all materials and data are ready for those meetings. Documenting meeting minutes, learnings, next steps, and tracking action items will be part of your daily tasks, as will coordinating status reporting to ensure alignment across all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure readiness for quarterly goals, conduct monthly reviews, and track team progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent.
  • 14+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong background in operations, business or technology leadership in the semiconductor industry.
  • Proven track record of supporting the development and delivery of sophisticated semiconductor products or IP.
  • Experience in hardware/software product development or other technology roles.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to proactively learn new computer architectures and solutions for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Chief of Staff, Project Management, Operations leader, or similar role, preferably within the technology sector.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and threads simultaneously.
