About the position

The Chief of Staff role at Recruiting from Scratch is a pivotal position that supports the executive leadership in a dynamic and innovative environment. This position involves managing the founders' schedules, coordinating cross-functional projects, and assisting in various operational tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization. The Chief of Staff will also play a key role in content creation, marketing initiatives, and the recruiting process, making it essential for the candidate to be highly organized and proactive.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an extension of the co-founders, helping them prioritize tasks and ensuring timely completion of all responsibilities.
  • Manage and prioritize the founders' schedule, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Prepare briefings for executive meetings, including research on attendees and relevant background information.
  • Oversee and coordinate cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and timelines.
  • Assist in organizing promotional events, AI research dinners, and hackathons.
  • Help manage follow-ups with contacts, maintaining detailed records in Hubspot.
  • Conduct research on high-value contacts for executive meetings.
  • Assist in content creation and marketing initiatives, coordinating with relevant team members.
  • Assist in the recruiting process by reaching out to candidates per week, managing our applicant tracking system (Ashby), and coordinating with the team and recruiting firms to move candidates through the hiring pipeline.
  • Handle miscellaneous operational tasks and respond to emails as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably in tech or AI.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with task management CRM systems (e.g., Linear and Hubspot).
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
