About the position

Recruiting from Scratch is seeking a highly motivated and versatile Chief of Staff to join our team in San Francisco. This role is critical in supporting the executive leadership and ensuring the smooth operation of our fast-paced, innovative environment. As the Chief of Staff, you will act as an extension of the co-founders, helping them prioritize tasks and ensuring timely completion of all responsibilities. You will manage and prioritize the founders' schedules, ensuring efficient use of time and resources, and prepare briefings for executive meetings, including research on attendees and relevant background information. In this position, you will oversee and coordinate cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and timelines. You will assist in organizing promotional events, AI research dinners, and hackathons, and help manage follow-ups with contacts, maintaining detailed records in Hubspot. Conducting research on high-value contacts for executive meetings will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will assist in content creation and marketing initiatives, coordinating with relevant team members. A significant aspect of this role involves assisting in the recruiting process by reaching out to candidates weekly, managing our applicant tracking system (Ashby), and coordinating with the team and recruiting firms to move candidates through the hiring pipeline. You will also handle miscellaneous operational tasks and respond to emails as needed, making this a dynamic and multifaceted position that requires excellent organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably in tech or AI.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with task management CRM systems (e.g., Linear and Hubspot).
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
