About the position

The Chief of Staff (CoS) plays a pivotal role in executing the Chief Product Officer's (CPO) strategy, ensuring effectiveness, cultural alignment, and talent objectives within the Chief Product Office. This position is responsible for the daily management of the CPO's office and serves as a central point for business management across State Street. The CoS will engage in client interactions, oversee product strategy, manage budgets, and lead various teams to drive transformation and execution of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Act as representative/proxy for the Chief Product Officer on necessary regional and global operating committees.
  • Responsible for client engagement—planning, visits, presentations, and takeaways/follow-ups.
  • Primary responsibility for Product strategy and supporting the development of individual Product strategies.
  • Engage in business level strategy planning, aligning to the overall strategies of the enterprise.
  • Oversight of the CAO function, including monitoring the business investment portfolio and managing the CPO budget.
  • Responsible for the Product Enablement team, including Vendor Lifecycle Management, Product Control, Billing, Project Management, and Process Engineering.
  • Lead the Product Advocacy team, including strategy and approach across all Products and services.
  • Partner with critical stakeholders to drive successful execution of product strategy.
  • Support ad hoc, strategic, and tactical efforts by leading projects across multiple areas.
  • Work with senior management to identify and implement process changes.
  • Develop a strong risk and control culture across all regions.
  • Mentor and develop team members while ensuring quality deliverables.

Requirements

  • Proven leader with effective analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem identification and resolution in a complex setting.
  • Results-focused individual with persistence and patience to drive results.
  • Ability to effectively partner with senior level staff and middle management.
  • Ability to detect emerging trends and recommend creative changes.
  • Experience in creating executive and board level material.
  • Experienced project manager with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Effective at adapting to changes and pivoting as necessary.
  • Strong networking skills to find data and insights quickly across the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while focusing on key deliverables.
  • General business knowledge across all business lines.
