About the position

The Chief of Staff for Core Engineering at Goldman Sachs is a strategic role focused on developing, managing, and executing firmwide technology strategy and program management. This position requires a professional who thrives in a fast-paced global environment and is passionate about solving complex organizational and business challenges. The role involves close collaboration with Engineering senior leadership to align Engineering with its rapidly changing environment and enhance engagement with engineers and segment leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage strategic program management for Core Engineering initiatives, including planning, execution, and evaluation of complex projects.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operational activities of Core Engineering, implementing best practices to improve performance.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Core Engineering, managing communication and preparing presentations.
  • Champion change management initiatives to facilitate organizational transformation.
  • Coordinate and support Core Engineering leadership meetings, townhalls, and other events.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in business, consulting, organizational development, human resources, communications, public relations, or marketing preferred.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in technology or the financial sector, preferably within an engineering environment.
  • Experience working in a global environment across a matrixed organization.
  • Proficiency in management, communication, internal and external engineering advocacy, and organizational development.
  • Proficiency in project or program management.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure.
  • Ability to create outcome-driven plans and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to establish cross-team alignment and buy-in to elevate engineers and the Goldman Sachs Engineering brand.
  • Ability to work closely with senior-level sponsors and stakeholders to create consensus around strategic projects.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
