About the position

As the Chief of Staff to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Carta, you will play a pivotal role in the execution of the company's go-to-market (GTM) strategy. Reporting directly to the CRO, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the sales and operational initiatives are effectively defined and driven. You will work closely with the CRO to identify sales obstacles and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Your strategic support will be crucial in fostering effective communication across various levels of the organization and ensuring that the GTM function operates smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for the CRO, helping to identify areas for improvement within the sales processes and implementing best practices to optimize operations. You will conduct thorough research, prepare detailed reports, and deliver presentations that support data-driven decision-making within the GTM function. Acting as a liaison between C-level executives and stakeholders, you will facilitate clear and timely communication, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed. You will also be responsible for preparing and coordinating materials for executive meetings, leadership offsites, and strategic engagements. Leading special projects and initiatives will be part of your duties, where you will oversee project plans, coordinate resources, and track progress to ensure successful outcomes. Collaborating closely with sales leadership, you will help optimize best practices and standardize reporting and tracking of outreach efforts, providing additional support to frontline managers. As Carta continues to expand its market presence, your role as the Deputy to the CRO will be essential in shaping and executing the GTM strategy. You will work directly with account executives to establish detailed outreach and deal cycle plans, consolidating reporting and providing updates to the executive team. Your focus on driving operational excellence will enhance productivity and ensure seamless execution of GTM initiatives, ultimately enabling sales to scale efficiently and deliver exceptional value to customers. By facilitating communication and collaboration across various teams, you will help align objectives and resources, enabling informed decision-making that drives growth and success for Carta.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key resource to the CRO to help define and drive key sales and operational initiatives by identifying areas for improvement, implementing best practices, and optimizing processes.
  • Conduct research, prepare reports, and deliver presentations to support data-driven decision-making within the GTM function.
  • Act as a liaison between the C level executives and stakeholders to facilitate clear and timely communication.
  • Prepare and coordinate materials for executive meetings, leadership offsites, and strategic engagements.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives by overseeing project plans, resource coordination, and progress tracking.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to optimize best practices, standardized reporting/tracking of outreach, and provide additional support to front line managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to understand complex go-to-market dynamics and models.
  • Very strong financial modeling and excel skills; experience in budget development and goal setting.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise good judgment, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, collaboration software, and Google Suite.
