About the position

The Chief of Staff to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a pivotal role responsible for supporting and executing strategic initiatives under the CTO's direction. This position requires a versatile individual who can balance multiple responsibilities, acting as an integrator connecting work streams across the enterprise, a communicator between the leadership team and the broader organization, and an organizer who provides the CTO with a clear, independent perspective. The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic advisor, guiding technology strategy, industry insights, and leadership development, while fostering productive relationships across the business and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Technology Organization to maximize productivity and impact, particularly in terms of core meetings, processes, and reporting.
  • Drive and support key projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring successful implementation, tracking, and closure.
  • Develop technology-focused strategic plans aligned with corporate goals and strategies.
  • Manage change initiatives and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare for upcoming meetings, ensuring the Senior Leadership Team is equipped with insights and materials for maximum productivity.
  • Set and distribute key meeting agendas, prepare and distribute documents, and take minutes for key meetings.
  • Create high-impact PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate complex technical information and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
  • Oversee and coordinate internal and external events for the CTO, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and seamless execution.
  • Create and update dashboards for reviewing key performance indicators across major CTO projects and initiatives.
  • Manage business case development and documentation for investment committees.
  • Track and communicate high-priority initiatives and identify risks or challenges.
  • Drive key operational matters including risk, audit, and staff training for the Chief Technology Organization.
  • Support the CTO with PMO, change management, and initiative tracking to ensure execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Draft communiques on behalf of the CTO in consultation with Corporate Communications.
  • Create systems and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years experience as an Analyst, Project or Operations Manager, or an aligned role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record in managing small to medium-sized teams.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to make sound judgments and quick decisions.
  • Ability to anticipate or recognize problems and refer them to the right person for resolution.
  • Adhere to expectations of complete confidentiality on all business matters.
  • Effective organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
