About the position

The Director of Finance & Chief of Staff will play a critical role in partnering with the leadership team in strategic decision-making and organizational performance improvement. This position provides high-level strategic and financial analysis support to the President, facilitates effective organizational processes, and contributes to the financial health of the organization while promoting a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and champion the organizational culture and model the organization's values.
  • Set organizational performance indicators and drive culture change toward organizational impact.
  • Translate strategic ideas into actions and processes.
  • Promote a healthy work environment and team connectedness across the organization.
  • Lead coordination with other Directors to ensure efficient processes and workflow.
  • Analyze and present financial reports and assist in budgeting and planning preparation.
  • Manage outside investment advisors and analyze potential earned revenue options.
  • Prioritize donor meetings and support Advancement objectives.
  • Strategically align the President's prioritization and time management with top priorities.
  • Participate in Board of Directors and Steering Council meetings and manage the Board Book.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or related degree preferred.
  • Management consulting experience preferred.
  • Experience in general administrative management roles for at least two years.
  • Strong understanding of unrestricted and restricted fund accounting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Tech-savvy with experience in accounting and financial reporting software.

  • A track record in grants management is helpful.
  • Facilitation skills to plan and execute group experiences into productive outcomes.
