About the position

The Chief of Staff at Banfield Pet Hospital is responsible for managing the hospital to ensure high-quality veterinary care, exceptional client service, and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team. This role involves advocating for pets' quality of life, building long-term relationships with clients, and educating both clients and hospital associates on pet health. The Chief of Staff collaborates with the Practice Manager to operate an effective veterinary team, improve medical quality, and enhance business performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage the hospital to provide high-quality care and exceptional service.
• Train and supervise associates to ensure compliance with Banfield guidelines.
• Oversee client education on wellness plans and preventive care.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks in medical services.
• Partner with leadership to interview, select, and develop hospital associates.
• Create and maintain schedules for veterinarians and associates.
• Act as a communications liaison among associates, clients, and leadership.
• Develop annual planning and budgeting for the hospital.
• Ensure compliance with all practice policies and local laws.
• Establish trust with clients through effective preventive care and treatment plans.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required.
• Veterinary license in good standing or eligibility for licensure.
• Two years clinical experience required.
• 1-3 years coaching and developing associate doctors required.
• Ability to perform basic surgeries and use standard medical instruments.
