About the position

The Chief of Staff - Federal Civilian at Microsoft is a pivotal role responsible for leading business management and operations within the Federal Civilian Operating Unit. This position focuses on accelerating revenue, market share, and strategic business outcomes by fostering collaborative partnerships and driving the rhythm of the business, including forecasting, leadership meetings, and strategy sessions. The Chief of Staff will work closely with senior leaders to ensure effective execution of business priorities and initiatives, while also managing financial planning and employee engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Drive predictable consumption, sales and usage processes and forecasting.
  • Monitor Consulting & Support Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment to Microsoft standards of delivery.
  • Ensure pre and post sales quality aligns to Microsoft standards and expectations.
  • Partner with Federal Transformation Lead in M&O to land change management initiatives across the business unit.
  • Manage and facilitate the rhythm of business (RoB) for the Leadership Team, including regular meetings and reviews.
  • Drive strategic initiatives or cross-group projects contributing to the overall organizational strategy.
  • Lead budget planning and forecasting process, hiring strategy, and resource management.
  • Oversee the communication function, including employee engagement and impactful internal and external communications.
  • Partner with Leadership Team, HR, and D&I team to drive a positive culture and workplace initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles.
  • 4+ years of experience in people management and/or leading virtual teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years' experience in business operations, planning and program management, and sales account management in large-scale, matrixed enterprise environments.
  • 2+ years of experience within and/or supporting the Federal Civilian landscape.
  • Experience working in a customer facing sales organization.
