About the position

The Chief of Staff for Financials and Spend Management at Workday is a strategic leadership role focused on enhancing operational efficiency and driving key initiatives within a product-centric organization. This position serves as a trusted advisor to the General Manager, coordinating internal communications, managing operations, and leading special initiatives to align business objectives across various departments. The role emphasizes relationship-building, process optimization, and effective communication to support the organization's growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and run key meetings including Staff meetings, Stand-Ups, Leadership Offsites, Town Halls, etc.
  • Establish and own internal communications strategy within the Financials organization and across Workday.
  • Develop close relationships with key senior partners across Product and Technology, Customer Experience, Marketing, and Sales organizations.
  • Serve as the point of contact and liaison for Corporate Functions including HR, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Corporate Strategy, and Corporate Development.
  • Drive and own adoption and execution of objectives and key results across the leadership team and broader organization.
  • Promote operational excellence by identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize systems and processes.
  • Support and promote professional development, identifying and implementing key programs across the Technology organization.
  • Lead key operational initiatives, partnering closely with team members within and outside the organization.
  • Conduct research for key projects, including investment opportunities and overall business improvements.
  • Guide leaders and key product teams on overall strategy direction, presentations, and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement a communications strategy for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft presentations and speeches on behalf of the GM.
  • Partner on key organizational changes, leadership alignment, and process improvements.
  • Serve as representative for GM in various meetings and forums as appropriate.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of business operations, strategy, consulting, product management or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated development and implementation of communications strategy for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Executive level speech and presentation writing experience.
  • BA, BS, or equivalent in Business, Computer Science, or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep experience in an enterprise SaaS environment, particularly technical experience or experience working closely with functional and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to learn quickly within a fast-paced team, including highly technical topics.
  • Ability to handle interpersonal relationships with a high degree of emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
