About the position

The Chief of Staff for the CFO at Nielsen will play a crucial role in supporting the CFO in overseeing high-impact projects and initiatives across the company. This position involves acting as a liaison between the CFO and various departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration, and contributing to strategic decision-making. The role is designed for someone who can drive continuous improvement in finance functions and manage relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead and/or support key projects in partnership with the CFO in collaboration with key Finance and Transformation leaders.
  • Prepare and collaborate on Company-wide presentations and monthly meetings.
  • Lead preparation and content creation for internal and external operating reviews.
  • Collaborate and manage relationships with key stakeholders across the Nielsen ecosystem.
  • Act as the central point of contact between the CFO and team members, facilitating effective communication and coordination across different functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Finance functions through identification of opportunities across people, processes, and technology.
  • Support on ad-hoc financial analysis, including financial modeling and analytical requests.

Requirements

  • 5 - 8 years of total experience and Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in corporate finance.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with an executive audience.
  • Ability to develop constructive relationships with colleagues across the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple work streams and priorities.
  • Sound fundamentals on financial knowledge and analytical ability.
  • Understanding of the media ecosystem and Nielsen's products and services.
  • Comfort with spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets) is required; comfort with SAP environments is a plus.
  • Strong modeling and analytical skills with the ability to inform decision making.
  • Excellent slide/chart building skills (PowerPoint and/or Google Slides).
  • Growth mindset and ability to lead through change.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Prior experience in Investment Banking and/or Strategy Consulting & Private Equity.
