About the position

The Chief of Staff role is a pivotal position within the Global Product Solutions (GPS) team at PayPal, which operates under the Enterprise & Merchant Platforms (EMP) organization. This newly formed team is dedicated to accelerating the deployment and adaptation of PayPal's products in markets outside of the United States. The GPS team is tasked with ensuring that product experiences are tailored to meet the specific needs, standards, and expectations of customers in various markets. This involves localizing global products and delivering market-level capabilities that support segment strategies and prioritize cross-market initiatives. The GPS team is globally distributed, with members located in key regions to support all PayPal business units. As Chief of Staff, you will be an integral part of the EMP operations team, which focuses on enhancing the operating model of the EMP team, leading critical initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality product delivery, and collaborating with corporate strategy to advance long-term goals. This role requires close collaboration with various internal stakeholders, including product domain leads, sales teams, customer support, and engineering across different markets and customer segments. In your day-to-day responsibilities, you will work closely with the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Global Product Solutions, acting as a trusted advisor to the leadership team. Your tasks will include facilitating leadership forums, developing strategy execution plans, refining organizational routines, overseeing critical initiatives, and authoring leadership communications. A significant aspect of this role is to contribute to solving the most pressing issues and opportunities facing the business. As an individual contributor, you will lead and influence a wide range of employees throughout the organization. Additional responsibilities include acting as a thought partner for the SVP and Checkout product leadership team, developing materials for product performance-tracking forums, collaborating with finance and corporate strategy to optimize economic performance, and driving organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a thought partner for the team's SVP and Checkout product leadership team.
  • Develop materials to facilitate product performance-tracking forums (e.g., OKRs, KPIs) with cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Corporate Strategy, and other key cross-functional leaders to optimize economic performance and drive execution phase of strategic projects.
  • Create, implement, and drive operating rhythms, relevant artifacts, and team events to enable better communications and engagement across functions and teams.
  • Support the organization's overall financial budget (expense, FTE, etc.).
  • Mature and standardize the way the organization communicates across PayPal.
  • Identify and execute organizational efficiency opportunities.
  • Comply with and positively influence standards set by CEO Staff.
  • Drive strong organizational morale and engagement.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of strong consulting, operations, product, or strategy experience preferred.
  • Industry expertise in payments and/or technology preferred.
  • Ability to articulate and manage OKRs and KPIs using metrics to drive performance and provide data in support of key decisions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail-oriented work.
  • Strong communication, listening, and negotiation skills; able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner and translate complex technical matters into terms understood by business professionals.
  • Sharp business judgment, ability to see 'big picture' and to prioritize.
  • Ability to manage change and ambiguity with an action-orientation/drive - must thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
