About the position

TransUnion is seeking a senior leader to oversee the strategy, planning, and legal operations functions for its global Legal, Risk, and Compliance (LRC) Department. This role will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and will serve as the primary senior advisor on the management of the LRC Department, executing strategic priorities and leading key enterprise initiatives. The position involves significant responsibilities in managing communications, personnel engagement, and budget management, while also serving as a trusted partner to internal clients and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and direction of the strategy, planning, and legal operations functions for the LRC Department.
  • Serve as the primary senior advisor to the CLO on day-to-day management of the LRC Department.
  • Execute the strategic priorities and aims of the LRC Department on a global basis.
  • Define the annual strategic three-year plan and lead key enterprise initiatives.
  • Drive performance against formal Department goals and contribute to strategic priorities.
  • Manage all LRC communications and personnel engagement endeavors, including CLO communications and global town halls.
  • Work with the CLO and Corporate Secretary group on Board planning and reporting.
  • Own the human resources and personnel allocation strategy for the Department.
  • Manage the global budgets of the LRC Department and oversee vendor engagements and outside counsel relationships.
  • Provide proactive legal counsel to stakeholders and maintain confidentiality of company-related business.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
  • 12+ years of experience as a practicing attorney with strong commercial, regulatory, and strategic experience.
  • Ability to work closely and independently in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and handle a significant workflow effectively and timely.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to build trusted-partner relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Prior executive experience or experience with strategy, planning, and operations, particularly with annual budgets up to $100M.
