About the position

The Chief of Staff for the Mountain Division at Vail Resorts is a pivotal leadership role responsible for partnering with the President to plan, oversee, and deliver on the division's goals and initiatives. This position focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and ensuring executional excellence on top priorities. The Chief of Staff will manage complex projects, facilitate communication among stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives to align resources with critical business objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, project management skills, and a passion for continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive understanding of the Company's strategy and align resources to critical business priorities.
  • Deliver high-impact solutions to the President by filtering information and driving workable recommendations.
  • Partner closely with the President to support key areas of work and allow focus on highest priorities.
  • Lead and organize efforts for President-led events, ensuring clear goals and agendas are established.
  • Anticipate the needs of the President and stakeholders to drive progress on critical objectives.
  • Develop and manage plans to ensure measurable results are delivered on time.
  • Ensure timely communication on all projects to facilitate understanding of ongoing priorities.
  • Lead production of all board materials for the Division.
  • Inspire trust and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Create an environment of continual improvement and demonstrate a desire to learn and develop.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, including leading critical projects and multi-faceted efforts.
  • Experience supporting and working with C-level executives in a business environment.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience owning a P&L.
  • Project/program management and analytical skills to identify and solve complex problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with adaptability to work with diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in 1:1 settings and with large groups.
