A highly organized and motivated chief of staff is sought to manage and oversee the personal and professional affairs of a high-net-worth individual. This role will be based in New York City, but candidates will be required to spend time in Eastern Long Island when the Principal is in residence, especially during the Summer season. Private housing will be provided to the candidate during this time. The chief of staff will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Principal's household and will be responsible for a variety of functions including real estate and facilities management, finance, domestic staff oversight, and household administrative support. In terms of real estate and facilities management, the chief of staff will be responsible for hiring and managing the facilities manager, ensuring that all operational procedures for the maintenance of all properties are well documented, and that routine inspections and maintenance are performed to avoid any disruption in services. The chief of staff will also develop the long-term technology and A/V strategy and evaluate next-generation products and service offerings. On the finance side, the chief of staff will approve all invoices, ensuring that the bills reflect the services provided, and process them for payment. They will prepare budgets for ad-hoc projects for review and sign-off by the Principal and COO, as well as issue and revoke credit cards to household staff, overseeing expenses to ensure they are necessary and appropriate. The chief of staff will also be responsible for hiring, managing, and overseeing all domestic staff, including housekeepers, groundskeepers, chefs, butlers, and boat crew, located across various properties in different locations. This will necessitate flexibility and readiness to work from different locations, ensuring that proper cleaning methods and standards are applied. In terms of household administrative support, the chief of staff will collaborate with all domestic staff and administrators to coordinate guest visitation and activities, ensuring seamless operations. They will handle the scheduling of all household staff to ensure smooth transitions and that all goals and objectives are met in a timely fashion. The chief of staff will oversee the effective management of all staff members, developing strategic goals and plans for each direct report and their respective areas of focus, promoting growth and development opportunities, conducting periodic performance evaluations, and developing training programs. They will work with the COO to determine appropriate levels of compensation for household staff members and ensure proper inventory is kept on all valuables such as art and wine.
