About the position

The Chief of Staff will manage and oversee the personal and professional affairs of a high-net-worth individual, ensuring seamless operations across various household locations in New York City and Eastern Long Island. This role requires a highly organized and motivated individual who can handle diverse responsibilities, including real estate management, finance oversight, and domestic staff management, while promoting growth and development within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring, managing, and overseeing the facilities manager and ensuring operational procedures for property maintenance are documented and followed.
  • Developing long-term technology and A/V strategies and evaluating next-generation products and services.
  • Approving invoices and processing them for payment, ensuring accuracy in billing for services provided.
  • Preparing budgets for ad-hoc projects for review and sign-off by the Principal and COO.
  • Issuing and revoking credit cards for household staff and overseeing expenses to ensure appropriateness.
  • Hiring and managing all domestic staff across various properties, ensuring proper cleaning methods and standards are applied.
  • Collaborating with domestic staff and administrators to coordinate guest visitation and activities for seamless operations.
  • Scheduling household staff to ensure smooth transitions and timely achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Overseeing the management of all staff members, developing strategic goals/plans, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Working with the COO to determine appropriate compensation levels for household staff members and maintaining inventory of valuables.

Requirements

  • Significant experience managing functions in a domestic/household environment.
  • Proven record of relationship building and managing a high-functioning team.
  • Ability to design, implement, and improve operational processes.
  • Flexibility to work from various household locations across NYC and Eastern Long Island.
  • Strong operational acumen in a domestic/household setting.
  • Hands-on leader capable of executing strategic plans for personal and philanthropic endeavors.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage internal and external constituencies.
  • Team-oriented with excellent management and communication skills.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills and diplomacy, with strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and manage change in a fluid environment.
